The Ánraoch are an elite branch of Galuyn fighters trained by the Gilnean military. This branch was formed prior to the union of Aleyina and Berenal, and was part of the marriage agreement between the two. Both Berenal and his half-brother Aeydan aided in training the soldiers whose targets were any encroaching Dullahan and Legion camps in the Earldom of Iscia's Cove.
The Dullahan clans are well-known for allying themselves with the Burning Legion and together with nobles from the Fallow Crest began pushing towards the Earldom and any other clans that still resisted them.
Ánraoch loosely translated from the Galui language to common means Great Warrior or Elite Warrior, a name chosen by Aleyina.
Those serving the Ánraoch use woad, painting both their bodies and their armor in runic symbols for strength and protection. They are proficient in various fighting styles including elven, and have mastered the ways of combating their foe with a pike, sword and shield. With some of the more promising members also learning the fighting techniques of great-sword usage.
The ships of the Ánraoch are marked by a kraken in the center of Iscia and above the wave symbol of the Wavewalkers. Currently there are three leaders among the Ánraoch: Morraig 'Warpwood' an Leanaí Iscia , Steafán an Leanaí Iscia and Alexsander "Loch" an Leanaí Iscia.
Their choice for the kraken under Iscia comes from the idea that the Mother of the Seas, Gurnye, sends out her kraken similar to how one would send out attack dogs against an enemy.
