Lord Hendrick Cobalstant, the reputed last great leader of the House of Cobalstant, was the leader of the House during the Marsh Uprising, a significant war between the Bite and the Reach. Having been raised into undeath by desperate Forsaken soldiers during the Battle of the Bite, the undead lord has waged war against the Blades of Greymane several times, having been successful in preventing the taking of the Dread Sleuth several times, as well as having been the one to deliver the Alteraci City of Hath's Vigil to the Forsaken after the Blades failed to protect it.

Having been given a fresher body to replace his aged and skeletal one, Hendrick Cobalstant now stands as a titanic warrior as he once was in life. Alongside him is his risen mount, Skyrender, a skeletal Gryphon.

Following their Pyrrhic defeat in the Dread Sleuth, Hendrick took the Dreadhold north to Sylvanas, where he was promoted to being one of her commanders and was granted a rather sizable retinue. While this was not ideal, any semblance of power or control was enough for Hendrick to be sated. Tasked with the defense of Silverpine, Hendrick has mirrored the Blades' actions in Gilneas, fighting against the Gul'kar Legion, a band of Fel Orcs loyal to Gul'dan and their demonic allies.

Facing down the Gul'kar in Silverpine, Hendrick found the battle to be an uphill one. Rather than turn away his once fierce enemies, Hendrick offered a temporary truce to the Blades. They begrudgingly worked together, Hendrick covering the flanks of the base while the Blades attempted to free their prisoners and Turanni, who ended up being a demoness in disguise, as well as capturing the portal that the Gul'kar had been using to summon in their Legion reinforcements. In exchange, when the battle ended, Hendrick would remove his forces from the region and forfeit the fort to the Blades for their use for the time being. This agreement was mutually understood to never be spoken of outside of this battle, as in both side's eyes, it never happened.

And just as such, the Cobalstant forces were eventually reformed into the Deathsworn, an elite group that served Sylvanas' interests through the war with the Legion, aiding the Crom'gar Warband in claiming the Refuge Cove with their citadel of Dreadhold. Now entwined with the Warband, Hendrick's appearance is a common one, leading his Forsaken against the Blades, or whatever other threat the Horde faces, with vigor.
