Ryan Greydon is the current ruling lord of the House of Greydon. Though the second son of the family, his elder brother, Oliver Greydon, was disinherited during the end of the Second Range Rebellion; due to the corruption that had seeped into his mind under Kil'zoth. Due to Oliver's disinheriting, the House of Darkwater was granted lordship of the Greydon lands, leading to Ryan keeping his family in hiding. He resurfaced after the death of Godrick Darkwater, petitioning for the restoration of his lands and family's titles. This request was granted, making Ryan the new Marcher Lord, and causing him to join the Blades. Since then, the Marcher Lord has been to a few different battles, including the march on Wickenden. However, when at the home front, he has shown a tendency to delegate the management of the Range to his wife in favor of avoiding interacting with his fellow nobles that come to seek an audience with him.

Personality[]

Born into a renown family, Ryan often found himself desiring a simple life as he grew older. That simple dream did not come to pass, but the mentality did stay. A man of his word, Ryan is known for being rather blunt and to the point. He's not a very patient man when it comes to formalities and has been known to be rude to rush proceedings to a quicker result. He's primarily concerned for the Range and its continuation and has often only offered token support to what he considered foreign causes like the Invasion of the Grip.

History[]

Ryan Greydon is the second son of Xavier Greydon and the middle child of the House of Greydon. Brother to Sir Oliver Greydon, Ryan was raised with no specialization beyond swordsmanship.

Ryan Greydon walks the path of a warrior and wears heavy plate-mail armor and wields a hand-and-a-half sword and a large tower shield. When he isn't utilizing his shield, he's wielding his sword with both hands.

After Lord Xavier was killed during the Battle of the Bite, Lord Godrick Darkwater took command of the city, and was later granted provisional lordship of the Range until the return of Oliver Greydon later. Due to the issues with Oliver leading forces afar, Oliver wasn't able to return until the events of the First Range Rebellion; where he was misled by Lord Simeon Houndsbane to believe that Lord Darkwater assassinated Xavier and that Lord Grayblade was in on it.

Due to wanting to meet with Berenal first, Simeon orchestrates the ambush that ultimately starts the First Range Rebellion, making it seem as if Oliver had returned and aggressively claimed his family seat and seeks to kill Lord Darkwater. Lord Darkwater eventually comes out on top and is named the new Marcher of the Range with the reunification of the Duchy; though his rule is quickly troubled and problematic. His wife eventually dies, leading to a series of other lovers, and he grants his former familial seat to the House of Haven for their service.

When Oliver was liberated at the end of the Discord, he was spared by way of Lord Grayblade, though his family was disinherited. The remaining Greydons remained in hiding during this time out of fear of potential reprisal. They eventually came out of hiding after Lord Darkwater's death, with the second eldest son, Ryan Greydon, taking lordship of his house. With the Darkwater bloodline having died out with the demise of Lord Darkwater and his wives having produced no children; Ryan and his family petitioned for the restoration of their ancient titles.

This petition was granted, albeit with a caveat. Due to the relative inexperience of Ryan as a lord and the controversy that remained in the aftermath of the Discord, Ryan was arranged into marriage with Idrya Haven, and Aeliren Chesterhill was installed as Warden of the Range. In addition to this, Lord Chesterhill was also married to Marilyn Greydon; solidifying the ties of the families in this period of upheaval.

With marrying the Lady Haven, Ryan also had to acknowledge a bastard child named Masakari and has been supporting the child with his own wealth despite the child not being his own.
